As a teenager I never had bad acne. But now as an adult, I was finding that I was having more and more acne which was very frustrating, especially when preparing to be in front of the camera.
From various salicylic acid spot treatment creams to dermatologist prescribed ointments….you name it- I've probably tried it! After growing frustrated, I finally found a skin care plan and overall lifestyle that worked for me!
Want to know what worked for my combination skin?!
-Plant Based Eating-
Improving your health and overall appearance starts from the inside out. Plant based eating provides your body with a wide variety of nutrient dense foods that are chocked full of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals which help aide your body and give your skin a glow! With a plant based diet your body will gain more vitamin A, C, E, as well as a plethora of antioxidants.
-Working Out-
That's right-- working up a good sweat flushes out each individual pore not only in your face, but all over your body. It rids the body of toxins through your sweat thereby also cleaning out your blocked pores which create the acne.
Tip: Immediately after finishing your workout, makes sure to cleanse your face to wash away all of the particles that came out of your pores. Follow up with toner, serum, and a hydrating facial lotion.
-Hydration-
Drinking enough water helps boost metabolism, and flush out toxins from your body. Hydration helps to balance blood pressure, blood sugar, and headaches. It’s also assists with healthy looking skin by plumping up skin, smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines, as well as preventing acne.
Although my skin is in much better condition than it was before I switched to plant based lifestyle, I still love to add a weekly mask to the mix. Here's what I use:
Bentonite Clay Mask- Indian healing clay + ACV
Directions
Start Out With 1/4 Cup Of Clay.
Add About 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar. You can also add organic honey, and lemon juice for added cleansing and brightening.
Mix In A Plastic Or Glass Container Until Ingredients Form A Paste.
*This mask really tightens up your face and removes pimples and cystic acne. Its super drying so be sure to hydrate your face intensely after this mask.
